It's hard to believe this is only my 2nd day at RAMP. I feel like I have been gone for so much longer!
I'm not going to write a lot right now, because I'm still trying to figure out exactly what it is that I am thinking and feeling. More than anything, I am just asking for your prayers right now. Pray that I will have enough confidence in my abilities to do this job that I know God has called me to do. I know that He wants me to be here. I'm just having doubts about myself right now. I know that it will all come together and that the Lord will take care of me, because after all, I'm doing this for Him! :) But your prayers would be much appreciated! I need all the help I can get!
I love and miss you all.
Happy Taco Tuesday!

And so it begins...
Well, here I am! My YouthWorks summer has officially started! I arrived in Birmingham for RAMP(Regional and Area Mission Preparation) around 9:30 this morning. We are actually staying in a church in Moody, AL just outside Birmingham. The church just happens to have internet access, so I figured I should go ahead and start this blog while I can get a connection, and have a few minutes!
The only thing I can say, is that YW is already AMAZING!!! As excited as I was before, it's only getting better! Every person here is so awesome! It's so cool to get to spend time with so many different people who will be doing the same thing I will this summer. It's almost intimidating how wonderful they all are! Every person has a unique story to share, and everyone is so passionate and excited about the work we will be doing. It's awesome to be able to share that passion and excitement with so many people at once!
I can already tell I'm going to form some amazing relationships this summer. My fellow Carthage staff members, Jono (our site director), Kayla (kids club), and Tim (work projects) are so AWESOME! I can already tell that we are going to get along great and work so well together. We are all so excited to get things started.
It has been a pretty laid back day so far. We checked in and received our staff manuals, and our YW welcome isn't until after dinner tonight. I'm ready to get it started! I've had a lot of time to sit and talk with a lot of other staff members from other sites and I don't ever think I have met a group of people more welcoming than everyone here. We are all in the same place, so it's really reassuring to know that we aren't going through this new process alone.
I don't know how often I'll be able to update, and the rest of this week will probably be pretty busy but I'm definitely going to try my best! I'm also hoping to pick up some new adjectives this summer, because I think amazing, awesome, incredible, etc are going to start to get pretty old! There just aren't words that are even good enough to describe the experience so far :)
Please keep us in your prayers as we prepare for what is sure to be a life changing summer!
Until next time, adios from Birmingham! :)
